Operation for rotary die cutting part of Flexo Rotary Die Cutter
Template Thickness Selection: The thickness of the template should be selected based on the paper thickness. Generally, a 16mm die-cut template is used for three-layer cardboard, and a 13mm thick die-cut template is used for five-layer cardboard.
Axial displacement of the rubber pad roller (Figure 1): The left and right displacement of the rubber pad roller is controlled by a cam mechanism, with a left and right movement range of ±20mm. This is mainly to avoid the die-cutting blade cutting in the same position, which can effectively prevent the rubber pad from being damaged too quickly, thereby extending the life of the rubber pad. The movement begins whenever the template roller exits the cutting position, with each displacement being 1-2mm.
The up-and-down displacement of the rubber pad roller (Figure 2) is achieved by a reducer driving an eccentric gear, with an adjustable range of ±8mm.

The templates used in the die-cutting section are quite precise and are usually ordered from specialized manufacturers based on provided drawings and box samples.
Therefore, the technical details will not be provided. First, the mounting holes of the wooden template must be aligned with the screw holes of the template roller. Align the center line of the template with the center line of the roller, and then fix it to the template roller with screws. The axial displacement of the template roller can be adjusted by a motor-driven screw mechanism to coordinate with the printing section of Flexo Rotary Die Cutter
Note: The length of the screws used to install the template roller should not be arbitrarily changed, otherwise it is easy to cause stripping of the die-cutting sleeve. A special tool can be made to remove the die-cutting sleeve. Use an 8mm round steel bar, approximately 100mm long, with a T-shaped handle welded on. Cut a 2mm wide and 3mm deep slit along the circumference.

Installation of the rubber pads is very simple; there is no need to disassemble the die-cutting roller. Simply press the rubber pad strip into the groove on the die-cutting roller.
Install them sequentially (using a special tool). After installation, the rubber pad roller will rotate with the die-cutting roller during die-cutting to prevent the die-cutting blade from repeatedly cutting at the same position on the rubber pad roller and to compensate for the error in linear speed between the die-cutting roller and the rubber pad roller at the joint point. The rubber pads are made of synthetic rubber; a cutting depth of about 1mm is suitable during operation. The deeper the cut, the shorter the die-cutting life.
