Slotting Operation Instructions and Work Guidelines for Inkjet carton printer
Gap adjustment is further subdivided into the following situations:
a. Adjustment of the gap between the upper and lower pre-press rollers:
● Pre-pressing applies pressure to the corrugated cardboard to break the corrugations and can also be used as a guide roller. The gap adjustment range here is 0-9mm. Generally, the gap value is less than 1/2 of the cardboard thickness.
b. Adjustment of the gap between the upper and lower crease rollers of Inkjet carton printer:
● Creasing creates indentations on the corrugated cardboard to facilitate subsequent processes. The gap adjustment range here is also 0-7mm, and the gap value should be appropriately smaller. Generally, the gap value is 1/4 of the cardboard thickness.
c. Adjustment of the gap between the upper and lower cutter roller seats:
● This is where the cardboard is separated, slotted, and corner-cutting is completed. The size of the gap here directly affects the final work quality of the slotting section. The gap adjustment range is also 0-8mm. Generally, the height at which the upper cutter engages with the lower cutter is 3-6mm. It should not be too deep, otherwise, uneven slotting and abnormal damage to the corner-cutting blade may occur.
Of course, users can adjust the gap value according to their actual work experience to achieve the most ideal product quality.
● Corner Cutting Blade Adjustment for Inkjet carton printer
1. For 3-layer and 5-layer corrugated cardboard, the height of the corner cutting blade should be adjusted, see part #5 in the figure below.
2. The #4 resin cushioning pad will wear down over time and needs to be replaced with a new one in a timely manner.
3. Corner cutting blades are consumable parts and should be kept in sufficient stock. Once dull or rolled, they should be re-sharpened; continued use should not be forced.
